The 3M Petrifilm Plate Reader is a device designed for automated interpretation of 3M Petrifilm Plates.

The 3M Petrifilm Plate Reader reads the top 3 most common Petrifilm Plates (Aerobic Count, Coliform Count and E. coli/Coliform Count) in 4 seconds, thereby increasing productivity flow in your lab. The consistent reading of plates by the Petrifilm Plate Reader eliminates variation between lab technicians and can reduce costs.

The included software displays results and color images of the plate on the computer screen, marking the colonies for easy verification.

Designed to attach to a customers’ own computer via USB2 Port, the reader is a single-feed plate system; the technician inserts a Petrifilm plate into one side of the device, the reader then interprets the Petrifilm plate and ejects it out the other side of the device when complete. This cycle time is approximately 4 seconds.

Automatic data storage:

Saves time, eliminates transcription errors and allows for easy exporting of data.

The 3M Petrifilm Plate Reader automatically exports sample results into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet – eliminating transcription errors and reducing keying time. The included 3M software also creates an uneditable log file which provides a historical record of data for audit purposes and enables FDA 21CFR Part 11 compliance. The log file can also be saved in text format to enable easy exporting to a LIMS or other external database.

Designed to be easy to set up and use:
The 3M Petrifilm Plate Reader was designed to be a plug and play device and can easily be set up in minutes. It is a compact unit that takes up minimal lab space and is easy to store when not using. Red and green LED lights on front of the unit indicate when the system is ready to read the next plate – eliminating the guesswork.
