Coriolis® Microbial Air Sampler

Ask a question about this product

Air samplers that collect bacteria by impacting them onto agar plates have the potential problem that the impaction can injure or kill the bacteria. This could mean that you get a false picture of microbial contamination of your environment.

The bacteria collected by the Coriolis®, a patented cyclonic air sampler, as liquid samples can be analysed by any number of rapid microbiological methods, depending on your testing needs.

A portable model is available, allowing you to sample anywhere in your production areas.

 Access to microbial tests

Thanks to its liquid collection media, Coriolis® equipment gives access to rapid microbiology methods (RMM) and to a variety of rapid and sensitive types of analyses, especially in the case of specific pathogens monitoring.

  • Plate agar: plate out sample on to traditional plate agar.
  • Solid phase cytometry: results in 1 to 3 hours, quantification of the total microbial flora.
  • ATP-bioluminescence: quantification of the total microbial flora.
  • Epifluorescence: quantification of stained microbes.
  • PCR: specific detection of pathogens or allergens.
  • Immunoassays: specific detection of pathogens or allergens.

This means sensitive and specific microbial detection in only few hours. Now that’s rapid microbiology.

Split up a sample for different analyses

With a consistent liquid volume of 15 mL, Coriolis® prevents any saturation of the liquid media. It also allows the user to split up the final sample and thereby makes several analyses, allowing either different methods to be used, different microbes to be identified or test variability of counts from the one sample.

Longer time monitoring

The addition of collection liquid can be done manually on the Coriolis® µ model. This means you can use the equipment continuously for up to 6 hours, ensuring a high sensitivity in counting airborne microbes.
