RapidChek® for E. coli O157

Results can be achieved in a minimum of 8 hours.

Simply add RapidChek 8 h proprietary media to the sample, incubate, transfer an aliquot of enrichment to a test tube, add the strip, and read the results.

The RapidChek® Lateral Flow Assay is an immunoassay which employs a unique combination of anti-pathogen antibodies and colloidal gold conjugate coated on the surface of a membrane. 

The SDI RapidChek® Lateral Flow Assay for E. coli O157 (including H7) can be used in combination with a proprietary enrichment broth for a rapid 8-hour test or an 18-hour test. A third protocol using a standard overnight enrichment in modified EC broth with novobiocin is also available. 

After suitable enrichment, the sample broth is transferred to a test tube and a test strip is inserted into the tube. No heat treatment required. Wait ten minutes for the results. 

One line means the sample is negative, two lines mean it’s positive. A control line is built into the lateral flow strip so you know the test has worked.  

The test kits are stored at room temperature, so no waiting.  

RapidChek® can detect 1 cfu/25 grams of food.
